Zoomlion Ghana Limited has strengthened its commitment to environmental sustainability, youth empowerment, and creative industry development through the donation of waste bins and the provision of public education during the 2025 Open Day celebration of the University of Media, Arts and Communication – Institute of Film and Television (UNIMAC–IFT), held on Friday, 14th November 2025.

The support forms part of Zoomlion’s broader national agenda to enhance sanitation infrastructure in educational institutions across the country. The waste bins, which will be installed at strategic locations on the UNIMAC–IFT campus, are expected to significantly improve waste collection, encourage proper disposal habits, and promote a cleaner and healthier learning environment for both students and staff.
Representing Zoomlion at the event was the Public Relations Manager, Mr. Ernest Morgan Acquah, supported by Mr. Daniel Ohene Obeng, Corporate Affairs Manager, and Mr. Idris Adam, Communications Officer. Their participation reflected the company’s ongoing efforts to champion environmental responsibility nationwide.
As part of the Open Day activities, Zoomlion delivered comprehensive public education sessions aimed at equipping students with practical knowledge on modern waste management practices. The interactive session covered critical areas such as proper waste segregation, recycling, environmental sanitation, and the role of young creatives in shaping public environmental behaviour. Students had the opportunity to engage Zoomlion officials, ask questions, and gain deeper insight into how media and film can drive positive environmental change.

Delivering the keynote address on behalf of the Managing Director, Madam Gloria Anti, Mr. Ernest Morgan Acquah underscored the powerful role media and film play in influencing societal attitudes and contributing to national development. He noted that Zoomlion, as Ghana’s leading waste management company operating in 26 African countries, places high value on partnerships with institutions like UNIMAC–IFT, which train the next generation of storytellers, filmmakers, and communication professionals.
Mr. Acquah emphasized that waste management is a shared responsibility rooted in awareness and behavioural change. He explained that UNIMAC–IFT, through its teaching and creative output, has enormous potential to advance environmental consciousness nationwide. He added that the donation of waste bins goes beyond providing infrastructure—representing an investment in a cleaner campus and in students who will become ambassadors for sustainability.

Zoomlion also expressed readiness to collaborate with UNIMAC–IFT on future initiatives including documentaries, student film projects, multimedia campaigns, and creative content that promote sanitation and climate resilience. Such collaborations, he remarked, will help position media as a transformative tool for environmental protection.
Authorities of UNIMAC–IFT expressed profound appreciation for Zoomlion’s support, describing the donation and public education efforts as timely contributions that will significantly improve campus sanitation and strengthen environmental awareness among students.

Zoomlion reaffirmed its commitment to supporting educational institutions and empowering young people with the knowledge and tools needed to promote responsible environmental behaviour. The company emphasized that partnerships of this nature are crucial in building a cleaner, greener, and more responsible Ghana.
