Zoomlion Zambia Limited is pleased to announce the launch of our Sanitation Improvement Programme (SIP) in Bauleni, a long-term initiative aimed at transforming the community into a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environment. The programme was officially launched during the Bauleni Garbage Clearance Project flag-off ceremony, which was graced by Hon. Mulambo Haimbe, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Zambia.

Programme Overview

Under this programme, Zoomlion will operate a localized transfer station, providing skip bins to collect and transport waste gathered by local wheelbarrow waste collectors. This collaborative system ensures that the heaps of garbage that have plagued the community will be a thing of the past and never return.

Programme Design and Benefits

The Sanitation Improvement Programme is designed to be self-financing and community-driven, enabling a continuous and reliable waste management system that keeps Bauleni clean without depending on external support. This approach will ensure the programme’s sustainability and effectiveness in the long term.

Launch Ceremony

The Flagoff ceremony was graced by Hon. Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Zambia, Mulambo Haimbe. Present at the event were: The area Councilor for Kabulonga, Mr. Kosamu Tembo, Lubwa Ward Councilor, Clement Milonga, CDF Chairperson, Father Kangombe, The CEO for LISWMC, Mr. Imuwana Mwanamwalye, Zoomlion Country Manager, Kenneth Moses.
