Waste Management Company, Zoomlion Ghana Limited has donated items including cash donation to support the organization of the funeral of the late Omanhene of New Juaben Traditional area, Daasebre Prof. Emeritus Oti Boateng and the Queen mother, Nana Yaa Daani.
The two traditional leaders died separately few months ago and are yet to be buried.
The Eastern Regional General Manager of Zoomlion Ghana limited, Mr. George Aguadze who led the delegation to donate the items explained that the company is mourning with the people of New Juaben and the items donated is to support the one-week observation of the great traditional leader.
He said “We have lost a great traditional leader and Zoomlion has lost an iconic advocate who was very instrumental in championing sanitation issues in Koforidua and beyond”.
He added that Zoomlion Ghana limited in addition to the donation is providing sanitation services at the event ground by deploying its operatives to undertake waste management activities by positioning waste bins and mobile cabins at vantage points and collecting various waste materials for safe disposal.
The event was held at the forecourt of the Omanhene Palace and traditional rulers, politicians, among other dignities across the country were present at the palace to mourn with the Paramountcy.
The late traditional leader was enstooled Omanhene in 1992 under the stool name Daasebre Oti Boateng and died at the age of 83.
He was a statistician, member of the International Civil Service Commission (ICSC) of the United Nations (Commissioner of the UN as of January 1, 2003, for a four-year term) and known in private life as Professor Emeritus Oti Boateng.
