This project was undertaken in line with Zoomlion’s commitment to contributing to the health delivery programme in the country with the Ministry of Health being the coordinating ministry.

The programme’s goal is to substantially reduce mosquito population in order to eliminate malaria and other mosquito-transmitted diseases from the country through the prevention of the breeding of mosquitoes, reducing the population of mosquitoes and increasing communities’ awareness on proper environmental sanitation.

The programme has recruited five thousand mosquito control spraying gangs throughout the country who have been trained by experts from the Noguchi Memorial Institute, University of Ghana and Valent Biosciences, USA to undertake activities such as spraying of possible mosquito breeding sites, de-silting of choked drains and sensitization of the public.
